It’s Official! The 2020 Color Of The Year Is….

As announced on September 23rd, Naval SW-6244 is officially the color of the year. This stunning color is said by SW in a statement to be “a rich navy hue that strikes a balance between calm and confident.” Upon taking a look ourselves, we couldn’t agree more. We’ve always been into the blue trend and couldn’t be more excited to see how this gorgeous shade is used in the New Year. In the meantime, check out some of our favorite past projects featuring the many shades of blue and all of its lovely hues.

A Major Player

Blue was already a major player in this home office. The custom built-in featuring a stunning shade similar to the Sherwin Williams color of the year. This provided the perfect amount of drama for designing a unique space. An article by Southern Home Living about the color of the year said “This vibrant choice is reflective that we as consumers are trending more towards the bold rather than the bland. But at the same time, we are seeking comfort and serenity in our homes.” That statement rings oh so true with this home office and the vibe it is giving us.

Accents That Compliment Your Environment

In this shared bedroom we used a lovely navy patterned bedding as well as blue accents throughout. Incorporating the color of the year can be done in a variety of ways including textiles and accents. The blue accents in this bedroom also compliment the gorgeous water-view which we absolutely love.

A Subtle Hint of The Trend

Subtle hints of blue in this living room’s otherwise minimalist color palette offer another take on how to incorporate the color of the year into your home. This room could easily be transformed by switching up the throw blankets and pillows for another color. Perfect for those looking for a way to include this color in your design without major updates.

A Pop of Color

In this project blue was pulled in by adding pops of the accent color throughout the home. The design held an otherwise neutral palette and was the perfect canvas for this pop. The color of the year is said to pair well with white and natural materials

Blue In The Kitchen

Painting your kitchen cabinets is another way to include the color of the year into your home. This can be done by painting all the cabinets, just the lowers or the island such as in this townhome.

Get ready to see more of this color in your New Year! We sure are!
